Derek's Update - Prayers Needed! Surgery Today!

Thank you all for supporting Derek! For those that missed the previous video, Derek Sonnenfelt is a subscriber and member of the TacticalBassin family. A few weeks ago he was at a grocery store when an elderly man hit the wrong pedal, jumped a curb, and pinned Derek between his car and a concrete wall.

Derek's leg will be amputated today (July 28th). The 3 hour surgery is scheduled from noon to three (Pacific Time). Your prayers are needed! We are praying for the doctor's wisdom as they make decisions that could alter the rest of Derek's life. We also pray for peace for Derek and his family throughout both the surgery and the recovery period after.

For those that want to continue to support Derek and his son through this time, a Go Fund Me has been set up.

The Tacticalbassin community has come around Derek already but he needs all the help he can get. Adapting to life as an amputee will take time. If you feel compelled to support him financially use the link below.

Matt Survived A Horrible Crash!

A few days ago Matt and his Dad survived a horrible, fatal accident in Eastern Wyoming. A woman crossed the center line and they had no where to go. A last second swerve avoided a direct head on collision but she hit them in the driver door and sent the truck, camper, and boat tumbling.

This was to be the beginning of a nearly 2 month family road trip but thankfully Matt's girls were flying ahead and weren't in the back seat. It was a nightmare but there is no question God kept them alive!

With the help of some amazing passers by and some of the most incredible local residents you could ever hope to meet, Matt and his Dad are back in California and so very grateful to be back with family.

Thank you all for your prayers! Too often we are reminded how fragile life really is. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow so please go hug and kiss your loved ones. Thank you for continuing to support TacticalBassin through this time.

Matt's Skin Cancer Operation + Sun Gear Tips

No one wants to find out they've got cancer, especially when they're young! Matt faced some scary news earlier this year. We waited to share it with you until he got the all clear but the time has come to let you know how serious the sun gear/sunscreen issue really is. The Sun doesn't mess around, you need to take care of yourself!

If you're not wearing sun gear because it fogs up, we have a trick for you in this video! If you're not wearing it because it looks silly, get over it. Matt is 34 years old with a young family and wasn't expecting to find out that his cumulative sun damage had already developed to the point of minor surgery.

If you're going to wear sunscreen be sure that you use a product with Zinc in it for maximum protection. The benefit of sun gear is that your skin is completely covered, being exposed to minimal doses of harmful rays. Take care of yourself, get checked, and get your family checked. Early detection can turn a potentially life threatening situation into a minor bump in the road.

Below is a break down of the sun gear we use...
