Spring Kayak Fishing - Best Gear For 2019

Spring has arrived and its time to get the kayaks back out on the water. We need the TacticalBassin Family's help! We're beginners when it comes to kayaks. We've picked out a handful of key items like tackle organizers, rods, and depth finders (linked below) but most of the gear is foreign to us.

What are your favorite kayak accessories and gear choices? Which cart, battery setup, anchor, crate, etc did you find worked the best for you? We're using Old Town Kayak PDL's this year (Predator and Topwater) and are totally open to your suggestions.

Don't worry, we aren't giving up the bass boats. We love our boats but we also enjoy the slower, relaxed pace that kayaks offer to anglers. We're going to mix it up this year and are looking forward to bringing you guys along! Below is a list of the gear we're currently using.

Spring is here and its time to talk about new gear! From jerkbaits to reels, to apparel, we've got you covered on a bunch of awesome new items for 2019! This time of year is all about getting dialed in and many of us do that with new tackle. We hope this guide will help you make solid choices as you prepare to head to the lake.

Next comes T-H marine's Eliminator Prop Nut, designed to eliminate vibration in trolling motors. The boat itself is an '08 Champion 210 Elite. The 210 is arguably the best rough water bass boat ever built. Sonars Basics: How To See Fish

This quick trick is the difference between seeing all the fish under the boat and never knowing they were there. Sonar isn't self explanatory but with a single adjustment you can change that for good! Tim explains how to change sensitivity and what to look for on your screen. Whether you're using top of the line gear or just an entry level unit, this information will help you see more fish.

The key to sonar is understanding sensitivity. Sensitivity that is set too high becomes so cluttered you can't see the fish through the mess. Conversely if sensitivity is set too low you'll spend all day staring at a blank screen. Finding that perfect balance requires adjustment but once you've dialed it in you'll know every time a fish passes below the boat.

If you're looking for a quality unit, here are our favorites at a variety of price points, starting with the units we use ourselves.
