We all have those days on the water where we just can’t seem to keep a fish hooked. Recently, I had one of those nights. I hope you enjoy watching me look foolish over and over again! Turn the sound up as the video will begin in darkness.

Matt Allen isn’t only a bass fisherman. Sometimes the heat of the valley will drive anyone to the mountains. Follow along as Matt takes you to one of the most beautiful locations on planet earth, and searches for some truly epic trout in the High Sierras.
It’s really interesting to see how fish relate to cover, in this case a big tree. One thing I found particularly interesting, is that when frightened the bass didn’t burrow into the cover, out of sight. It swam away from the tree, toward deep water. This is a common reaction and something to keep in mind when approaching a piece of cover. Check out this video from Paul!
