The Ultimate Pond Fishing Challenge

Matt challenged Tim to show up to a pond with nothing but his backpack and two rods. Inside the pack was a variety of baits that should work great on a small pond. The challenge? Catch a fish on every bait in the box in less than 2 hours... and be careful not to break off, there aren't many backup baits!

Tim did a great job of working through the various baits to catch bass in the pond. He proved it could be done with different techniques and fishing styles from worm fishing to reaction fishing to getting topwater blow ups.

Breaking Down A New Lake In The Rain

Come along with Tim as he locates fish and tries to develop a pattern on a fishery he knows little about! He explains his bait selection and thought process along the way so you can replicate the mindset on your own fishery.

Tim breaks down the lake despite difficult windy and rainy conditions. He discovers the fish are schooling in the cleanest water on the lake and is surprised to find a steep drop in water temperature in the clear water. To his amazement the cold water didn't seem to matter as the fish clung to that clearer water.

Underwater Video of Bass Eating Crawfish!

UNDERWATER FOOTAGE of bass eating crawfish plus bonus video of world class Spotted Bass and Largemouth swimming in their natural habitat! Ever wondered if Bass really eat crawfish?

Its amazing to watch how casually these big spotted bass inhale the crawfish. With no effort at all they are able to gulp them down. I'm not sure what we expected but they sure seem to eat without any concern.

Crawfish are a primary forage food for bass but we rarely get an opportunity to actually watch them get eaten. There is so much information to be gleened by watching these bass interact with each other and their surroundings. Huge thanks to Paul Young for getting this great footage while freediving California's reservoirs!

Catching Bass From Kayaks on Clearlake

Bass fishing from the kayak is awesome! Clearlake's closure gave us the perfect opportunity to get out, paddle around, and catch some bass. Come along for the ride!

Fishing from the bass boat is a blast but there is something special about being out on a small boat without a motor. The roar of an outboard engine takes away from the overall fishing experience. Kayaking can be as exciting or relaxing as you want it to be without the harsh sounds and movement of the larger boats.

If you're on the fence about giving it a try, you absolutely need to! Not only is it peaceful, it gives you access to areas you could never reach by boat. The backsides of cover, ponds, streams, etc... all become viable options when you're in the smaller boat. Don't wait, head to the lake and try out a kayak. You might just catch a giant!
