The Story of Tim's 15 lber!

Some anglers spend years in search of a trophy bass. Tim put in his time as an angler but on his first day with a swimbait he boated two bass for 25 lbs!

Tim's first swimbait fish ever was a 9.8 lber from Collins Lake. It was the biggest bass he'd ever caught but somehow it was still bittersweet. He had high hopes for his first 10 lber and to come so close was tough to swallow. Hours later, lined up on the same spot he got his chance!

One bite, one hookset, and a long fight later, Tim was holding a 15 lb bass! He'd hoped for a 10 lber but got a teener, a true fish of a lifetime!

Behind the Scenes of River2Sea

If you've ever had an explosive bite on a Whopper Plopper or a giant bass track down an S-Waver Swimbait, you've thrown a bait that passed through these doors. Most anglers don't realize River2Sea is a local company, located in Richmond, California. A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to spend an afternoon at the River2Sea offices and thought we'd bring you along.

Angelo Alorro, the National Sales Manager, gave us a brief tour. We learned they've been around for 16 years and have developed a handful of bass fishing lures that have shaped the market and changed the way we view bass behavior. Simon Chan is the primary lure designer and his breakthroughs can be seen throughout his own products as well as across the industry.

Tim and I never realized just how many River2Sea products we use. There are those we talk about regularly but there are a bunch that we fish without ever saying a word. Below is a list of the baits we use that you should take a look at...

-Whopper Plopper
-S-Waver Swimbait (168 and 200)
-Biggie Squarebill Crankbait
-Rover Walking Topwater
-Bubble Walker (Both Sizes)
-Bully Wa 2 Frog
-Spittin Wa Frog
-Bling Spinnerbait

The Story of Matt's 17 Lber!

Ever wonder what it would be like to catch a 17 lb bass? You sure didn't dream it would go like this! Matt's 17 lber had every opportunity to escape but somehow, against all odds she found her way to the net!

Matt takes you back to 2005 on little Rancho Seco Lake in Northern California. He had spent years trying to learn how to catch bass on a swimbait unsuccessfully but this day would be different! Bolstered by twin 11 lbers the week before, Matt returned to the lake with a renewed confidence.

In the midst of everything going wrong, the fish of a lifetime finally bit! Everything that could go wrong went wrong, but somehow it worked out in the end. The fish weighed as heavy as 17.8 lbs but Matt was comfortable with the consistent weight of 17.2 lbs.

What makes this fish so special (aside from the obvious) is that she became the impetus for Tacticalbassin. She permanently changed the course of Matt's life, ultimately bringing us here. If you'd like to read the article on Bassmaster click here
