Interpreting Modern Electronics For Beginners AND Advanced Anglers!

Its finally here! No more mystery, its time to learn what those electronics are trying to show you! Do you know what fish look like? Do you know how to interpret the picture? Its time!

Modern electronics are a mystery to most anglers. Some anglers spend a few dollars for basic electronics, others spend thousands, but few know what the picture is actually showing them. This is the beginning of a series that will last for months, possibly years, as we explore and help you develop a deeper understanding of how to operate and interpret your electronics, regardless of brand.

Here is the unit Tim is using to capture the screen shots in this video...

Matt Loses a Teener! **Real Footage**

This Bass was AT LEAST 13-14 lbs and Matt had her right to the net! What a brutal day! It happens to everyone but that doesn't make it any easier when it happens to you! This fish of a lifetime won the fight and will haunt Matt for a long, long time.

A few days ago we shared the catch footage of Matt's 6 1/2 lb Smallmouth but its healthy to see both ends of the spectrum. The tough days happen to everyone and we are not exempt. The deciding factor between a consistent angler and one who gets lucky from time to time is consistency.

Below is a break down of the gear Matt was using as well as the gear we recommend you incorporate into your arsenal so you can become more consistent.

The gear Matt was using when this bass bested him...
Rod- G Loomis 966 Swimbait: http://bit.ly/2x9kxuS
Reel- Shimano Tranx 300 7:1 Ratio: http://bit.ly/2kYsvRw
Line- 80 lb Power Pro: http://bit.ly/2aFg46b
Leader- 30 lb Maxima Ultragreen: http://bit.ly/2ae97J9
Connection Knot: Blood Knot with 9 loops each direction
Mattlures Hammer Tail Bluegill Swimbait: http://bit.ly/2FsZhA3

Recommended Gear...
1) Owner ST-36 Trebles: http://bit.ly/2cWpeyw
These hooks are STICKY sharp. They're fairly light wire so use these with Crankbaits, topwater, and other baits when hookup ratio is key.

2) Owner ST-56 Trebles: http://bit.ly/2cVg7xW
These hooks are STRONG and are a great option when bigger fish are targeting Crankbaits, swimbaits, and other large hard baits.

3) Gamakatsu Nano Finesse Treble: http://bit.ly/2dWWAut
This is the Sharpest and most consistent hook we've ever used. Its the ONLY hook you want to use for jerk baits. Its hookup ratio is phenomenal and sizing will match popular baits including the Vision 110.

4) Power Pro MaxCuatro: http://bit.ly/2clBRiQ
This line is thinner than other braids and allows you to upsize one power while maintaining diameter. If you're used to using 20, spool 30. If you're used to 50, spool 65. You'll get a more strength without sacrificing.

5) Maxima Ultragreen Monofilament: http://bit.ly/2ae97J9
Yep, its mono. We know you think you have to use fluoro... we use it too. But when push comes to shove this stuff makes a stronger leader, has incredible strength with connection knots, and still gets bit in clear water. TRY IT, you won't regret it.

6) Owner Hyperwire Split Rings (Black): http://bit.ly/2v8ArBX
These rings are the strongest and most consistent we've ever found. Use them so you stop losing hooks to giant fish.

7) Salter Brecknell ElectroSamson Scale: http://bit.ly/2f7QgQ9
Why use this Scale? Because a 9.9 is a 9, not a 10. If it matters to you, if you really want to know what your fish weigh, this is your scale. There are only 2 hand held digital scales that can be consistently certified and this is the least expensive/most widely available. We carry 2 sets on each boat... just in case.

This isn't our typical content, or a typical write-up but if you want to be a consistent angler these details are critically important. Find what works for you and never vary. When your chance at a giant comes, you'll have your very best shot for success!
