3 Tricks To Get Wayyy More bites with a HydroWave

Does the HydroWave really work? Is it easy to use? Savvy anglers have been using the Hydrowave to catch more bass for years! There are a few tricks that make it even more effective and today we're finally letting those secrets out.

Tim just picked up the HydroWave H2. This unit has more sound options than previous models and is very user friendly. In a matter of minutes we'd found the best sounds for the school of bass we were sitting on and were immediately catching fish.

The best time to use a sound stimulator like the hydro wave is when bass are schooling together. It will work on individual fish as well but you lose the multiplying effect of the bass triggering each other to feed. We've also noticed that "less is more" when adding sound to the water. Start off with lower volumes and levels of aggression and work up until the fish react.

Below is a breakdown of the units, sound modules, and gear we were using during this video.

Fall Tackle Review: Rods, Reels, Lures

Matt and Tim are on the water and they brought a boat load of new gear along! From new spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and crankbaits, to rods and reels, they're spending the day exploring new equipment. Come along for a fun afternoon on the water!

The Shimano SLX and Dobyns Colt rods had already been fished but the rest of the tackle was brand new. Watch first hand as the guys have to adjust reels, dial in baits, and figure out how to adapt to fish that are difficult to pattern.

The guys make the best of the conditions and the gear and quickly begin boating quality bass. The key players seemed to be the jerkbait and underspin but a handful of other baits were successful as well. Below is a break down of all the equipment the guys were using.

Best Gear For Fishing A New Lake

How Do you pack for a lake you've never been to? What gear are you going to need? How much tackle should you carry? How much is too much? Do you need anything special? Today Tim answers all these questions by taking you along for a tour of the gear he packed for his trip to Michigan.

Preparing for "anything" that a new lake can throw your way is very challenging. If you specifically select baits that have multiple uses it is much easier to be prepared for varying conditions. From clean water to murky, from a topwater bite to ledge fishing, you can get away with less tackle than you might expect.

Below is a break down of all the gear Tim took to Michigan to chase Smallmouth on lakes he'd never seen before. They're broken into Finesse/Spinning Gear and Reaction/Casting Gear.

Trolling Motor Installation: Minn Kota Ultrex

Step one in our bass boat retrofit is a new trolling motor. We're upgrading from the Maxxum Pro to an Ultrex 112. Matt explains each step of the process as he shows just how quickly and painlessly these motors can be installed. Start to finish the installation takes less than an hour.

If you've considered the Ultrex for your next trolling motor its definitely worth the investment! Once you've experienced spot lock, heading, and a few of the other features there really is no going back. It adds an incredible level of convenience to your day on the water.

We use the 112 lb with 52" Shaft. If you are combining with Humminbird Electronics be sure to use the "Link" version of the motor so you gain all of the available features.
