Early Summer Bass Fishing Tricks! (Incredible Swimbait Fishing!)

Come along for a fun day on the water! Tim is on a road trip through the North and picked a random lake off the map. Watch how he builds several unique patterns and catches a ton of beautiful largemouth and smallmouth on everything from a swimbait to a spy bait!

This is such a fun time of year to be on the water! You can catch fish a variety of ways, as illustrated by Tim's fishing today. When the conditions dictated, Tim caught a bunch of quality fish on the Megabass Magdraft. After a front blew through, he turned to a jerkbait and a spy bait to keep his bite alive. It just goes to show you, if you keep a rod in your hand, you never know what will bite!

Below you'll find links to the exact baits Tim used throughout the day. We've included the exact colors, sizes, and bait modifications, along with the rod and reel combos he used to fish them effectively. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Swinging Jigs For Summer Bass! (Everything You Need To Know)

This is our FAVORITE technique for catching BIG BASS in late Spring and early Summer! The Swing head jig is overlooked by most anglers but it's still catching a ton of big fish! This technique is easy to do, won't require new gear, and it will work on your lake. It's time to set your old Summer patterns aside, and try something completely different!

The swinging jig is incredibly simple. All you do is pair the free swinging head with your favorite bait, let it hit bottom, and start a moderate retrieve. As you swim it along the bottom the bait will bump along, deflecting off cover, and drawing reaction strikes from the bass. While this technique can be done with swimbaits, worms, and creature baits, our best results have consistently come with creature baits.

When it comes to baits, there are endless options that can be rigged on these heads. However, we've found very specific baits that consistently get bigger bites. Below you'll find links to those exact baits, as well as the heads and gear we use to fish them. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

How To Properly Break In An Outboard Motor ( Yamaha SHO 250 ) + Electronics Tips

Jump in Tim's new Skeeter FXR 21 bass boat and ride along as he breaks in his new Yamaha SHO 250 outboard engine! Properly breaking in your motor is an essential step in having a reliable motor for years to come. Every motor, regardless of brand, has a specific break in procedure for the first 10 hours of use. The first hour requires a lot of idle time, so Tim also breaks down the new Humminbird interface for Apex, Solix, and Xplore units.

The proper break in procedure or a Yamaha Outboard is as follows...

First Hour: Run the boat at varying speeds, up to 2000 RPM

Second Hour: Accelerate the boat onto plane (without reaching full throttle) then back off as much as possible, while still staying on plan.

Following 8 Hours: Operate the vessel at all speeds, but avoid operating at full throttle for more than 5 minutes.

We hope you found this video useful. While it's tempting to skip ahead of the break in procedure and just go fishing, that is a mistake that will cost you later. Take the time to break your motor in properly, and enjoy the reliability into the future.

Tricks To Catch Bass In The Wind! (Post Spawn Bass Fishing)

Fishing in the wind doesn’t have to be tough! Jump in Matt’s Skeeter, and learn the tricks to using wind to your advantage! Watch as he breaks down a brand new lake in the middle of a wind storm. Not only does he use the wind, he puts together a great limit of fish!

Exploring a new lake is rarely an easy task. Throw wind into the mix, and it can be downright tough! Matt had to pull all the stops today, but in the end he catches a BIG ONE! The fishery he’s on today has a lot of shallow vegetation so Matt used a combination of swim jig, underspin, and frogs to get key bites throughout the day.

Below you’ll find links to the exact baits and gear Matt used throughout the day. He’s also included the exact colors for each bait. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.
