Early Spring Power Fishing! (And Grass Fishing Tips)

Jump in the boat with Matt for an afternoon fishing trip in Florida! We've only got a few hours to fish, but that's all we need. Matt employs a handful of baits to quickly start catching fish, including several of his favorite grass fishing techniques. While fishing, he takes the time to explain the details of what he looks for when fishing around grass, how he breaks down water, and the baits he uses to consistently catch fish.

This was one of the quickest trips we've ever done. Matt only had a few hours to fish, but with a swim jig locked in his hand, you know fish are going to be caught. Throw in the swimming worm, a soft jerkbait, and a few alligators and we've got a fun afternoon on the water! Tricks To Catch Bass In The Wind! (Post Spawn Bass Fishing)

Fishing in the wind doesn’t have to be tough! Jump in Matt’s Skeeter, and learn the tricks to using wind to your advantage! Watch as he breaks down a brand new lake in the middle of a wind storm. Not only does he use the wind, he puts together a great limit of fish!

Exploring a new lake is rarely an easy task. Throw wind into the mix, and it can be downright tough! Matt had to pull all the stops today, but in the end he catches a BIG ONE! The fishery he’s on today has a lot of shallow vegetation so Matt used a combination of swim jig, underspin, and frogs to get key bites throughout the day.

Fishing Isolated Grass For Post Spawn Bass ( Florida Bass Fishing )

After the spawn a lot of anglers lose track of the bass. Here's what you need to know! Some fish stay shallow around cover to recuperate from the spawn while others go out to deep water. The fish heading to deep water typically don't go far, back out to the first break or first piece of offshore cover. Come along for a day on the water as we target these fish!

Bass typically spend several weeks recovering from the spawn before continuing on to their Summer haunts. Tim and JD landed perfectly in this window in Central Florida and were able to target those fish effectively with a variety of baits. From chatterbaits to drop shots, they probed offshore isolated grass in search of big bass on a new fishery.

Finding The BIG Bass In Summer - Exploring A New Lake!

Sometimes a plan comes together, sometimes it falls apart! Watch as the guys explore a new lake with great intentions but its not until their plan crumbles that they find the pattern for catching BIG bass! Pay attention as the guys analyze what they're seeing, make adjustments on a new fishery, and catch two great big bass on a very hot Summer day!

What started out as a day of exploring offshore structure quickly turned into a backwater slugfest! The guys found fish willing to eat topwater and reaction baits in dead end sloughs and coves. Once they figured out the pattern, it only took a few minutes for the first big bass to hit the deck. New lakes can be challenging under the best conditions but if you go in with a plan, keep an open mind, and adapt to changing conditions, you can catch fish just like this on a brand new lake.
