Early May Bass Fishing! Bait Tricks To Catch Fish During The Post Spawn Transition!

Jump in the boat with Tim for a fun day on the water! Bass are transitioning between the spawn and the begins of early Summer patterns. Tim quickly dials in a Karashi bite, follows that up with a topwater pattern, then backs it up with a swimbait bite skipping the Magdraft around trees. It's a great time to be on the water, but you'd better be ready to adapt!

This time of year can be amazing. With multiple patterns available, you can choose the style of fishing you want to do. Tim focused on post-spawn fish that were positioning to feed on offshore structures and shallow cover. He used a combination of swimbaits and topwater to catch fish throughout the day.

Post Spawn Bass Fishing! Day On The Water With Matt!

Hop in the boat with Matt for a fun day on the water! Watch how he adapts to changing conditions as fish move into the post spawn period. He begins the day with a shallow water plan but quickly finds himself downsizing to target offshore bass. He learned a lot along the way and takes time to explain how fish behavior and environmental conditions shifted his plan.

Days like this remind us that bass fishing is full of surprises! Matt intended to fish swimbaits, swim jigs, and topwater but quickly realized that slow finesse presentations like a shaky head worm were key. He also spent a few hours chasing a random fish in hopes of a pattern that never emerged. Explaining these errors and how he adapts to them, is how all of us grow our fishing knowledge base.

Where Bass Go When Its Really Hot! (And How To Catch Them)

Come along for a HOT day on the water and watch Tim prove that you can still power fish in the heat! Step one when it gets hot is to decide if you want to target shallow or deep fish. Today, Tim focused on the shallow bite. He used a handful of reaction baits (Karashi and Topwater) to target fish that were hidden in shade lines.

Summer heat is uncomfortable, but the fishing can be amazing! Watch how Tim instantly eliminates 99% of the lake and focuses solely on shallow shade. This is because the shallow bass are forced into these locations, making them vulnerable to his power fishing approach. He switches back and forth between a Karashi, Jowler, and Giant Dog X, before finally turning to the free rig.

We were given the opportunity to influence colors on two of bass fishing's hottest baits, and you know we couldn't pass that up!
