What's the Craziest Thing You've Ever Hooked While Fishing?? Here's Matt's Story!

Crazy things happen on the lake! We plan to catch fish but sometimes we hook birds, animals, and who knows what else! What's the craziest thing you've ever caught? Here's the story of  Matt's most bizarre experiences!

The Osprey is understandable. The bird is curious and if you've thrown a swimbait for any length of time you've probably had a close call. But what was the beaver thinking? That one is just crazy!

In case you find yourself in this kind of situation there are a few tools that will make it a little easier to free your accidental catch. A net, pliers, and wire cutters are essential to getting the job done cleanly. With smaller animals simply roll them in the net and work through the mesh to free the hooks. This eliminates the danger to humans of being pecked, clawed, etc... and it restricts the animal's movement so it doesn't hurt itself while panicking.

Topwater Challenge! Can't Go Home Until Its Complete!

Topwater fishing is one of Matt's favorite ways to catch bass so when the call came in with a challenge he jumped at the chance! Catch a bass on a Popper, Spook, and Whopper Plopper before going home. Challenge accepted!

Topwater is one of the most exciting ways to bass fish. The whopper plopper in particular gets EXPLOSIVE strikes! If you haven't thrown one yet do yourself a favor and give it a try.

This video is just for fun but there is still a lot to be learned. Pay attention to the cadences of the baits, and more importantly the changes in cadences. Apply that information to your fishing the next time you're on a topwater bite and you might catch a few more fish.

Matt Loses A 15 lb Bass At The Net! | Painful Fish Story

Matt had the 15 lber right up to the edge of the net! When she came off his swimbait flew by his head like a bullet! Worse yet, she didn't even know she was free and just kept thrashing! It was horrible!

Matt was throwing an 8" Huddleston Deluxe Swimbait in a large pond from an aluminum boat when the monster bass bit. He was using gear that wasn't strong enough and it was all he could do to battle the giant bass! Losing that fish has replayed in Matt's mind hundreds if not thousands of times and even now remains as a constant reminder to keep his gear dialed in and stay focused at all times.
