Spawning Bass Tips! Muddy Water? Cold Water? No Problem!

Forget the old rules! This isn't about white baits and spawning coves! Muddy Water? Cold Water? Get ready!! its about finding bass before everyone else, in places no one else looks, and catching fish when no one else even knows the spawn is happening!

We all grew up reading about how to catch bass during the spawn. We don't need to cover the basics again (we already did that in previous videos). Today we want to completely change the way you approach spawning fish.

Let's talk about cold water spawns, targeting bass in muddy water, and even false spawns in the Fall. Get ready!

How To Find Bass In Shallow Cover

Have you bass moved shallow? Are they in the trees,  pads, or grass? Here is everything you need to know to find them quickly so you can build patterns more efficiently and start catching more fish.

Step 1) Identify the edges of the cover. Whether your cover is 20 feet across or 2 miles across, you need to start your search on the edges.

Step 2) Move to the very center and determine if the fish are spread evenly throughout the cover or if they're only in select locations.

Step 3) Seek out the anomalies like points, creek channels, different types of grass or trees that stand out from the rest, etc.

Step 4) Repeat the process in similar locations until you have an effective pattern that can be duplicated.

What baits do we use to quickly pick apart cover? We start with fast moving baits then slow down and pick the cover apart. Below is a break down of our confidence baits for locating early season fish in this cover.

Where Do Bass Go In Early Spring?

Have your bass vanished? Have your favorite Winter spots gone cold? Here's why! The bass are on the move and they aren't wasting any time doing it! Every year the bass start their Spring migration in late Winter and for those anglers that haven't learned to follow them, it can be a very frustrating time.

The key to predicting the bass' movement is to understand why they are moving in the first place. The ultimate goal of their movements is to spawn as soon as water and environmental conditions allow. The key is locating the key stops along their journey.

If you're trying to locate fish, electronics can make all the difference. Here is what we are using... Humminbird Solix 15: http://bit.ly/2pAkXr2

How To Quickly Catch Bass On Any Lake!

Ever wondered how the pros show up on a new lake and immediately start catching fish? Developing patterns quickly is an art, but its not a secret. Once you learn the method, you can do it too! Matt explains his mindset as he develops a pattern on a cold winter day.

Matt explains how changing conditions have repositioned the fish in the lake but by applying a few keys baits a depth and location is quickly established. Your lake may look completely different but the information will apply whether you fish a river system, a tiny pond, or a giant reservoir in the South.
