Spring Topwater?? Never Miss The Bite Again!

Don't be the guy who misses the start of the Early Spring Topwater this year! It sneaks up on your every year but this time you're going to be prepared! The fish start keying on the surface much sooner than most anglers realize. These 2 tricks will make it easy for you to know when the bite has begun!

There are two key indicators of an early season topwater bite. The first is the presence of fresh grass growth. When the grass begins to develop, the topwater bite almost always follows suit. The 2nd is the presence of baitfish in the shallows. If there are minnows up shallow, its time to start throwing topwater during the warm afternoon periods.

Sprinker Modification: The key to success with the Sprinker Frog is an exposed hook. We found that by removing the stock hook and replacing it with a Gamakatsu Wide Gap 3/0 Frog Hook we got a much better hookup to land ratio. This is going to eliminate a lot of the "weedless" benefits of the frog but if you're running in open water around cover, your hookup ratio will double by using this hook.
