Spoon, Blade, and Tail Spin Tricks - Cold Water Bass Fishing

We're all excited about Spring but the cold water isn't gone yet! If your bass are deep and lethargic, its prime time to hit them with heavy metal. Will a bass really eat a hunk of metal? You better believe it! Spoons, Blades, Tail Spins, and Ice Jigs, are made for this time of year! Here are the tricks we use to get them bit...

The blade bait is one of the deadliest cold water baits ever made. Add in a jigging spoon and a tail spin and you've got an arsenal that can catch cold water bass anywhere. The key to these heavy metal baits is knowing how to adapt them to your conditions. Some days you're snapping them aggressively off the bottom, other days its nothing but a flip of the rod tip to keep the bait quivering on the bottom. Subtle changes will make a huge difference in the days and weeks ahead.

Winter Dam Fishing - What Will We Catch Next?!

Come along for a day on the Tennessee River as we fish the Watts Bar Dam at the top of lake Chickamauga. Target species: Anything that bites! We love to catch bass but sometimes we just want to get on the water and catch fish. It doesn't matter what's biting when the kids are on board! 

Tim and JD didn't let the cold keep them from having a good time at the lake! The duo double up on catfish to start it off then work their way down stream in search of bass. The day is short lived however as the arrival of snow is more than they were prepared for. Sometimes its about fishing hard, sometimes its about big fish, and sometimes its just having a good time with the family.

A-Rig Tricks For Winter Bass: Full Rigging + Modifications (Beginner To Advanced)

The Alabama Rig is here to stay! Its ability to catch bass in Winter across all conditions is virtually unrivaled. If you're still not fishing one, you're making a mistake. If you are fishing one, you could probably be catching more fish with some simple adjustments. Here are the tricks we use to catch more fish on the A Rig throughout the cold water months. 

The A-Rig is unique amongst lures because it has to be assembled by the angler. This simple difference leaves room for error and even more room for fine tuning. Understanding how many baits you should use, which wire sizes work best, when to use blades, and when to try different baits, are all factors that can take you from catching the occasional fish to having incredible days on the water!
