Swim Jigs and Stripers

Here is a quick clip from earlier in the week of a keeper striper on a swim jig. For striped bass I utilize a different trailer to create more vibration but the concept remains the same. 3/4 oz Dirty Jigs No-Jack Grass Jig on a Dobyns 765 Flip. There will be more on this in the near future but in the meantime, enjoy!

Have you been catching the stripers this year? Topwater, rattle baits, hair raisers? There’s nothing wrong with a little multi-species fishing in the fall. Let’s hear your stories.

Punching at its finest

A few months back I had the pleasure of doing some punching with my friend Justin out on the CA delta. At the end of the day Justin spent a few minutes talking about he had learned and his thoughts on punching. That video was posted here and many of you have already watched it: Punching the CA Delta
Since then Justin has been out catching fish and was nice enough to send over this clip. I was told these fish were caught using the Miller punch System from millerpunchinweight.com and from all appearances, they’re worth giving a try. I hope you enjoy the video!

Have you been on a great punch bite this year? Leave a comment and tell us all about it. Better yet, did you get it on video? Send us an email and we’ll get it on the site.

How to Skip a Jig

I recently had the pleasure of spending a day on Lake Lewisville with Tim Cline. As the day progressed I realized that I was completely outmatched when it came to pitching and skipping in heavy cover. Tim was gracious enough to let me turn the camera on so the rest of you could see how he does it. Watch closely and take notes, this guy is good!

Mike Long on Swimbait Rods

Thanks to Hooked Up for lending us this video. When it comes to swimbaits and big bass, Mike Long is someone that just can’t be argued with. In this video he shares a few brief insights into his signature series of Dobyns Swimbait Rods. I credit these rods directly for keeping my hookup to land ratio so high. Give the video a watch and learn from the the man that inspired the design.
