Jerkbaits Vs. Swimbaits : Which One Wins?

Matt hits the water with a jerkbait and a small swimbait for a quick evening session. The plan was to return to a school of active bass blowing up on baitfish but that quickly changed. Watch as Matt adapts to the changing conditions and puts together a pattern that produces BIG bites.

Learning to read the water and adapt to changing conditions takes time. Having a solid knowledge of the fishery is a huge bonus but a willingness to change on the fly and try new baits is all that's really required.

The jerkbait and swimbait are both proven producers throughout the Spring. When one is producing small bites the other will often produce larger fish. Don't be afraid to abandon your game plan when its not working and trying something completely different. You never know when you'll switch from catching little fish (or no fish) to having an awesome time on the water!

Dock Fishing Made Easy - How To Catch EVERY Bass!

Stop wasting casts and scaring fish!  These tricks will change the way you approach docks, the casts you make, and the fish you will catch. Ever wondered how many fish are really under the docks? You're about to find out!

Tim uses a handful of baits but his method is very simple. He approaches docks from the outside in, and darkest shadows to lightest shadows. He also treats shadows and shadow edges the same way he does a piece of hard cover.

By mixing finesse and reaction baits and fishing the key cover pieces, you will effectively reach every single fish under the dock. These tricks work!  Stop making the easy casts, catching the small fish, and scaring the big ones. Use these tips to immediately improve your catch rates.

Spring Jerkbait Fishing: Beginner and Advanced Tips!

Ready to "Trigger" fish to bite like never before?! These tips are the real deal! Learn to force bass to react instead of waiting for them to want to bite. The power of a properly fished jerkbait is unlike any other lure.

The jerk bait draws on a bass' core response. It can trigger an instinctual feeding response from a fish, regardless of their desire to bite. You're about to learn how to use a jerk bait to its fullest potential! Be sure to pay careful attention to the portion on how to work the baits with crisp snaps rather than slow pulls.

There are a lot of great baits on the market but some seem to be more consistent than others. Below is a list of the baits we fish with confidence from prespawn to postspawn.

Large baits...
Megabass Kanata: http://bit.ly/2jG4Q85
Jackall Rerange 130: http://bit.ly/2ge0qED
Megabass Vision 110 Magnum: http://bit.ly/2vdZOWf

Smaller baits...
Jackall Rerange 110: http://bit.ly/2ge0qED
Lucky Craft Flash Pointer SP 115 and 100: http://bit.ly/2aHz588
Lucky Craft Staysee 90: http://bit.ly/2dBzMmz
Damiki Striker 90: http://bit.ly/2FeVW7I

Replacement Hooks and components...
Treble Hooks- Gamakatsu Finesse Nano Treble (Size 4,5,6): http://bit.ly/2dWWAut
Owner Hyperwire Split Ring (Size 2 and 3): http://bit.ly/2v8ArBX

Jerkbait Storage...
Bass Mafia Casket 3700: http://bit.ly/2fg5ouM
Plano Waterproof 3740: http://bit.ly/2fvjcFB

Matt's Jerkbait Combo...
Rod- Shimano Expride 6'10" Medium: http://bit.ly/2nTq9FL
Reel- Aldebaran 50: http://bit.ly/2fdX1Uy
Line- Sunline Assassin 12 lb: http://bit.ly/2h4LNjm

All-Around Jerkbait Combo...
Rod- Shimano Zodias 6'10" Medium: http://bit.ly/2cgmMAe
Reel- Curado 70 7:1 ratio: http://bit.ly/2apmDJt
Line- 20 lb Sufix 832: http://bit.ly/2ae93Ji
Leader- 12 lb Maxima Ultragreen: http://bit.ly/2ae97J9

Softbaits and hooks...
Zoom Super Fluke: http://bit.ly/2aqys0H
1/0 Finesse Wide Gap Hook: http://bit.ly/2aKGmHM
Owner CPS Spring Medium: http://bit.ly/2b2YgDf
Gamakatsu Superline 4/0 EWG Hook: http://bit.ly/2ac92XG

The "nose rig" method for the fluke is very simple. Take the medium CPS spring and screw it directly into the nose of the fluke. Once fully twisted into the nose take the 1/0 hook and thread it through the nose of the bait AND the spring. The will give you maximum action and longevity. For the superfine hook its just a simple Texas rigged presentation. ________________________________________________________________

New Boat For 2018! Full Tour!!

This boat is amazing! After searching across the country Tim finally found the perfect bass boat! By shopping on the used market he was able to invest more of his money in accessories instead of paying a premium for a new boat.

The boat is a Champion 210 Elite Single Console. The 210 Elite is debatably one of the best riding boats of all time. By purchasing used Tim was able to save money and install the following accessories while still staying well below the cost of a new 2018 Bass Boat:

At The Bow...
Humminbird Solix 15: http://bit.ly/2pAkXr2
Humminbird Ultrex 112: http://bit.ly/2vFQypW
Humminbird 360 Imaging: http://bit.ly/2K8jPl4
T-H Marine Kong Wave Tamer: http://bit.ly/2wsJVbA

At The Console...

At the Transom...
Minn Kota Talon 15' Shallow Water Anchors: http://bit.ly/2F0QBSP
Minn Kota On Board Precision Digital Battery Charger: http://bit.ly/2vcrbjA

If you're in the market for a boat at least consider purchasing on the used market. Its amazing how much money can be saved and used to finish the boat with the accessories of your choice instead of barely affording the stock version of a new boat. We look forward to bring you a ton of great content from the Champion. Thanks for checking it out and be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming videos!
