Ned Rig Challenge!

10 minutes start now! How many can we catch? We've got rising water, heavy flows, and murky conditions. The smallmouth and schooling near running water and there are a TON of them!

We located this school earlier in the day but with the water rising 3 inches an hour there was no telling how many could be pouring into the area. Since we'd already found them and covering water wasn't an issue we settled on the Ned Rig.

Both equipped with a Ned Rig on light line we began making repetitious casts to the same area to create a feeding frenzy. Once they started biting it got serious! They were biting on every cast, sometimes two at a time.

While these aren't the biggest fish in the world it shows how aggressively bass can school and feed together. Below is a breakdown of the gear we were using.

Whopper Plopper 75!! Sneak Preview!!

The Whopper Plopper is coming in an all-new 75mm size! This bait is shorter but bulkier and has an awesome action! Are you amongst the masses of anglers that have fallen in love with the Whopper Plopper? You're going to love this new version!

The 75 is a completely different profile than its larger siblings. While only 75mm long it boasts a much wider and taller body shape with a large, bulbous head. The result is a bait that pushes an aggressive wake, creating a large presence in the water, and its paired with a larger tail so you get that deep Whopper Plopper sound you've come to expect from the larger sized baits.

The bait won't officially release until ICAST this week and will be available to the public shortly after but you can pre-order today!

The bait is equipped with heavy-wire size 4 hooks so fishing the bait on the right rod is critical to your hookup ratio. We recommend a true medium action 7'-7'2" rod, even going as far as a medium crankbait rod.

Recommended Gear...

Rod- Curado 7'2" Medium Crankbait: http://bit.ly/2zCjAtd
Reel- Shimano Curado 200K (7:1 Ratio): http://bit.ly/2tHewEh
Line- 50 lb Power Pro MaxCuatro: http://bit.ly/2clBRiQ
Leader- 15 lb Maxima Ultragreen: http://bit.ly/2ae97J9

Senko Fishing Challenge!

Tim and Matt go head-to-head for 20 minutes! Both are armed with a 5" senko, each rigged differently. May the best rig win!

The senko is a proven fish catcher that works all over the globe for a variety of species. There are so many different ways to rig it but two methods stand out from the crowd. The first is the wacky rig, in which a small hook is secured in the middle of the bait and allows for maximum action. The second is a larger hook Texas rigged, allowing for the bait to be fished in and around cover.

The gear used in this video...

Rod- G Loomis NRX 893: http://bit.ly/2hedqsq
Reel- Metanium MGL 7:1 Ratio: http://bit.ly/2ezIBfB
Line- 50 lb Maxcuatro Braid: http://bit.ly/2clBRiQ
Leader- 12 lb Maxima Ultragreen: http://bit.ly/2ae97J9

Yamamoto 5" Senko (Fading Watermelon Purple): http://bit.ly/2axAmNS
Tim's Hook- Owner Wacky 1/0: http://bit.ly/2x0yBGU
Matt's Hook- Gamakatsu Superline 3/0: http://bit.ly/2ac92XG

There are so many great ways to rig the senko. If you ask a dozen fishermen what the best hook is, you'll get a dozen answers so here are a couple more of our favorites...
