Finesse Underspin Swimbaits For Summer Bass!

Come along for an evening on the Tennessee River with Tim and Josiah. The guys are targeting schooling fish with a variety of baits before finally keying in on an underspin. Once they pick up the under spin, its like a light switch flipped and bass start coming into the boat right and left!

We all know the power of swimbaits, especially small swimbaits, when it comes to targeting schooling fish. But taking it a step further, an underspin with its increased flash and vibration, is amazing at drawing bass' attention away from schools of baitfish. That little blade can be the difference between catching a few fish, and having an amazing time on the water.

Swinging Jigs For Summer Bass! (Everything You Need To Know)

This is the EASIEST way to catch BIGGER bass as we transition into Summer! The Swing head jig has been forgotten by most anglers but its still catching big fish! This technique is easy to do, won't require new gear, and it will work on your lake. Its time to set your old Summer patterns aside and try something completely different!

The swinging jig is incredibly simple! All you do is pair the free swinging head with your favorite bait, let it hit bottom, and start a moderate retrieve. As you swim it along the bottom the bait will bump along, deflecting off cover, and drawing reaction strikes from the bass. While this technique can be done with swimbaits, worms, and creature baits, our best results have consistently come with creature baits. 

When it comes to baits, there are endless options that can be rigged on these heads. However, we've found very specific baits that consistently get bigger bites. With all new concepts in fishing, there are some anglers who are aggressively opposed to forward facing sonar. We recognize those concerns but are also aware that many stem from a lack of understanding about the equipment. As you can see in the video, forward facing sonar is not a sure thing. Yes, it helps you locate fish but you still have to get them to bite.
