How To Catch Bass When Its HOT! ( Baits, Spots, Tricks )

Don't let the HEAT Get you down! Hot weather is great for bass fishing if you know how to adapt. Hot temperatures put bass in predictable locations and today we're going to show you how to target them. With just a few simple baits you can catch fish all through the heat of Summer, no matter how hot it gets!

Whether you prefer fishing shallow or deep, Summer heat will help you catch more fish. Shallow fish move into shadows (we'll explain this in the video) and deep fish group in likely locations. We target them during periods of high sun using key baits, and in the dark with traditional offerings. Summer fishing is easy once you apply this approach!

Catching GIANT Bass When Its HOT! (Shallow Water Tricks!)

Jump in the boat with Matt for a wild day of power fishing in the shallows! The fishing is on fire and so are the air temperatures! This is the most intense, most ridiculous day of fishing! Matt did it all wrong, didn't fish clean, had problem after problem, then turned it all around and caught a monster bag of Summer time bass!

7 Fishing Mistakes That Will Ruin Your Summer!

Don't make these mistakes this Summer! Summer bass fishing is tough enough without getting in your own way! If you can avoid these 7 common fishing mistakes, you will absolutely catch more fish this Summer!

Summer fishing success is all about attention to detail. Paying close attention to conditions and timing is the difference between a great day (or night) on the water and just wasting time. Here are the mistakes you should avoid this Summer...

1) Fishing Memories Instead Of The Current Conditions: Many anglers focus all their time on fishing places that worked in the past, regardless of the conditions or time of year. This is a huge waste of time and will lead you toward slow days on the water.

2) Summer Bass Go Deep When Its Hot: While a lot of bass move to offshore structures, there are a surprising number of fish that stay extremely shallow around cover in Summer. Even better, those shallow fish are incredibly predictable and can be easily patterned with exciting techniques.

3) Ignoring "Lively" Water: Water temperature is important, but oxygen (Dissolved Oxygen) is much more important. Bass will completely abandon areas that have low oxygen, even when they look perfect. Key indicators are lack of baitfish, lack of live grass, and overall lack of overall life. Focus on areas with grass, current, or boat wakes.

4) Slowing Down In Bad Water and Speeding Up In Good Water: Begin your day by power fishing and looking for active fish before slowing down. Most anglers begin fishing slow and only covering water after that fails to work.

5) Failure To Understand Bite Windows: Bass feed during key opportunities. They tend to feed heavily, then become lethargic. Bite windows can happen at any time, so pay attention to when you're getting bit.

6) Overlooking Shade: Bass love to hide in shade and ambush prey in the Summer months. Docks, bluff walls, and overhead cover are all likely locations to check.

7) Failure To Adjust To Pressure: Change the size or sound of your baits to get more bites. Recognize that you must be different than the crowd to have real success.

Watch how Tim adapts to these conditions with 3 baits, and has an awesome day on the water! It doesn't matter what conditions you face, when you know how to adapt.

Tim did most of his catching with a Neko Rig. This underutilized technique is an excellent choice for wary bass, often outperforming a shaky head in clear water situations. He had it paired to our new "Tactical Shad" colored senko. Once a ripple returned to the surface of the water he shifted gears to a swimbait and topwater to round out his day.
