Two Baits That Catch February Bass! (During Tough Conditions)

Jump in the boat with Matt for an exciting afternoon on the water! The post-frontal morning was 19 degrees, but the afternoon bite is hot! Matt has set his sights on dam fishing the TVA and the fish are ready to feed, despite the tough conditions.

Matt chose to fish a dam today because the fast current positions the fish in predictable locations. He used two main baits (an A–Rig and a paddle tail swimbait) because of their drawing power in the fast moving water. Two Lakes In One Day! Catching Bass On Crazy Lure Colors!

Chartreuse and Blue are two of the most underrated colors in fishing. They may not work every day on every lake, but they tend to get larger than average bites. The Cold Water Bass Fishing Trick Everyone Forgets!!

When Winter bass don't want to bite, the Jerkbait is the deal! Long pauses and short snaps of the rod can get wary fish to commit. However, this time of year attention to detail is everything. From baits to hooks, and rod to line,  you need your gear to be perfectly dialed to fully take advantage of a jerk bait's potential. 

Matt started out fishing a variety of Winter time baits. He threw crankbaits, blade baits, alabama rigs, and swimbaits. Right before he was going to call it quits he picked up the jerkbait and changed the course of his day. The subtle action of the jerkbait combined with long pauses was more than the bass could resist!
