Breaking Down A New Lake In The Rain

Come along with Tim as he locates fish and tries to develop a pattern on a fishery he knows little about! He explains his bait selection and thought process along the way so you can replicate the mindset on your own fishery.

Tim breaks down the lake despite difficult windy and rainy conditions. He discovers the fish are schooling in the cleanest water on the lake and is surprised to find a steep drop in water temperature in the clear water. To his amazement the cold water didn't seem to matter as the fish clung to that clearer water.

Spring Clearlake Fishing With A-Rigs

Come along with Matt as he throws Alabama Rigs on Clearlake during the Prespawn for hungry Spring Bass!

The Alabama Rig is an amazing way to catch Springtime bass as they bulk up for the spawn. The A-rig lets you cover water quickly while picking off both big bass and small bass at once. There are very few lures that appeal to all sizes of bass like the Alabama Rig does.

Positioning The Boat To Catch More Fish

Matt explains how boat positioning plays a major part in catching bass. He breaks down when to fish uphill vs. downhill and how bass forage determines which method is more effective.

The key to knowing how to position a bass boat to catch more bass is to know the bass' main forage. If bass eat crawdads, bluegill, or other panfish then you typically position the boat out deep, cast shallow, and work your bait downhill.  If bass are eating trout, kokanee, gizzard shad, etc... you typically position the boat shallow, cast deep, and work the bait uphill.
